Interventions in Mali to guarantee health care and fight child malnutrition

Mali is a country in dire need of humanitarian aid. According to the latest nutritional survey conducted by the institutions in 2019, 15 out of 100 children suffer from acute malnutrition and are in danger of life. Numbers that translate into a real emergency that needs to be stemmed as soon as possible. For this reason, COOPI Suisse has launched a series of activities to combat malnutrition and improve access to medical care for the population in Mali.

Thanks to the support of our donors, we are guaranteeing our presence alongside the Intensive Nutritional Recovery Unit, financing the doctors and nurses who take care of children suffering from acute malnutrition, saving their lives.

Other important activities foreseen by the project are the distribution of hygiene kits, with bowls, pots and soap, and the training of young Malaysian mothers so that they can recognize the signs of malnutrition in time in their children and immediately take them to health centers.

With the aim of further improving access to medical care, COOPI Suisse will also intervene through two mobile units that will have medical personnel on board, in order to support internally displaced persons in the country, bring cases of malnutrition to Health Centers, vaccinate population and assisting young mothers in childbirth.

Thanks also to your contribution, we will be able to give hope to families in Mali to improve their lives and fight food insecurity.
