SUDAN: THREE YEARS OF CONFLICT. WE MUST NOT LET THIS CRISIS BE FORGOTTEN

Last month marked a tragic anniversary: three years since the beginning of the conflict in Sudan. What is unfolding today is the world’s largest displacement crisis. Yet despite these devastating figures, Sudan risks becoming a forgotten emergency.
The numbers reveal a dramatic reality that is increasingly affecting women and children:

  • 20 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance
  • 14 million people have been forced to flee their homes, becoming internally displaced or refugees.
  • 19 million children are unable to attend school, leaving their future on hold.
  • 12 million women and girls are exposed daily to the risk of gender-based violence.

As healthcare and water systems collapse, outbreaks of cholera, malaria, and dengue fever continue to spread among an already exhausted population.

In this extreme context, COOPI Suisse continues to stand alongside those in need. Thanks to your trust and support, we are on the ground turning emergency into resilience and helping to guarantee fundamental rights:

  • Water and hygiene: we provide access to clean water — the most essential resource — and promote the cleaning of water collection areas to prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Emergency kits: we distribute hygiene kits specifically designed for women and girls, as well as essential relief kits for families.
  • Health and nutrition: we work tirelessly to protect children from acute malnutrition by providing treatment and nutritional support.

Every action we take is only possible thanks to your support. Standing with the people of Sudan today means refusing to look away from a silent tragedy.

Thank you for choosing to stand with us and for giving a voice to those who no longer have one.
