In Gaza, where every minute can make a difference, your generosity has been transformed into concrete action. Together with the COOPI network, we have successfully completed the first cycle of intensive training at Al Wafaa Hospital in Gaza City.
At the heart of this change are 31 young participants (27 of them women) who completed a training programme in emergency first aid and psychosocial support. Thanks to your contribution, these new operators now have both the technical skills and the emotional strength needed to act as first responders within their communities.
The impact of this training is already growing rapidly on the ground:
- 1’207 people have already received direct assistance (first aid and psychosocial support) from our newly trained responders.
- 6’159 indirect beneficiaries have been reached through awareness-raising activities and community outreach.
- Medical kits are currently being distributed so that each responder can operate in the field with the appropriate tools and equipment.
A voice from the field: Amina’s story
Amina, 23, decided to join the training course after a night she will never forget. During a bombing, an elderly neighbour was injured and, with no emergency assistance available, nobody in the area knew how to stop the bleeding or calm her down.
“That night I felt helpless. I understood what it means not to know how to help. I chose to take part in this training because I want to be ready — for my family and for the people living around me. Here, we cannot wait: we must be the first to respond. Knowing how to help others is a responsibility.”

Our commitment does not stop here. The road ahead is still long: the lack of electricity and the severe logistical challenges remain critical. Nevertheless, the dedication of our teams remains unwavering, and on April 6th the second edition of the training programme officially began.
All of this is possible thanks to your continued support. Thank you for making this change possible and for choosing to stand alongside the people of Gaza.
