Sudan emergency, one year later

A year ago, a conflict broke out in Sudan that nobody talks about any more, but which has generated one of the biggest humanitarian crises to date. Since the first days of the war, there have been many difficulties, especially in Khartoum, the capital, which was heavily affected by the fighting, forcing people to flee.

Today, after 12 months, the situation remains critical: 8.5 million people are internally displaced within Sudan or have fled to neighbouring countries, including Chad, which is already a country in extreme emergency. Among the most worrying consequences is that more than 25 million people are at risk of food insecurity: entire families fleeing conflict in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

These are men, women and children who have lost everything, survivors of attacks and violence that have scarred them forever.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to intervene promptly in the country and in Chad, helping fleeing families.

We distributed food, clean water and shelter to 3,875 displaced people and helped young Sudanese who had been traumatised by the violence and war. In Chad, we built 3 Child Friendly Spaces, where 8,239 children, through play activities, received psychological support to overcome their darkest moments.

All this was possible thanks to you who continue to be at our side to change the story of those in difficulty.
